Review: Bitter Frost by: Kailin Gow

Title: Bitter Frost
Author: Kailin Gow
Publisher: The Edge
Pages: 235
Series: Frost #1
Source: Kindle E-book

Description:

All her life, Breena had always dreamed about fairies as though she lived among them…beautiful fairies living among mortals and living in Feyland.
In her dreams, he was always there the breathtakingly handsome but dangerous Winter Prince, Kian, who is her intended. When Breena turns sixteen, she begins seeing fairies and other creatures mortals don’t see. Her best friend Logan suddenly acts very protective.

Then she sees Kian, who seems intent on finding her and carrying her off to Feyland. That’s fine and all, but for the fact that humans rarely survive a trip to Feyland, a kiss from a fairy generally means death to the human unless that human has fairy blood in them or is very strong, and although Kian seemed to be her intended, he seems to hate her and wants her dead.

My Review:

Oh My Gosh what a great book, we meet Breena and Logan who are school friends and Breena keeps finding herself having dreams about faeries and a faery realm not sure what to make of it she shrugs it off as just a dream.  While going through the day on her birthday through school she keeps feeling like someone is watching her.  A pixie to be exact.  While celebrating her birthday with Logan they are interrupted and Breena is kidnapped.  What she learns next is enough to keep anyone going.
Breena is a Princess of Summer Court, Kian is Prince to the Winter Court and Logan is a werewolf who travels between the faery world and modern world.  Breena has been kidnapped by Kian to be brought and traded for Kian’s sister Shasta, who the Summer Queen is holding in a dungeon, little do Breena and Kian find out that the Pixie King wants to make Breena his wife and create half breeds of humans, faery and pixies.  Logan gets caught up trying to save Breena.

This book had it all action, adventure, mythology and history.  Definitely glad I got this series.  The author is a great story teller making me anxious to jump back into the world of faeries.  Can’t wait to start Forever Frost!
