My Review:
This book follows the story of Cassie Blake who lives with her mom. They had been living in California but after taking a vacation to Cape Cod, they end up moving in with Cassie's grandmother who's getting older and in need of assistance.
Cassie starts school and ends up on the wrong side of everyone. Finally Diana helps Cassie to belong and invites her to sit with "the cool kids" Cassie finally feels like she is gaining control. When a fellow student Kori dies under unnatural consequences Cassie gets invited to join The Secret Circle. A group of witches who are part of a long ancestry of witches.
Cassie also meets up with Adam a boy she had met on the beach of Cape Cod she felt a strong attachment to Adam. When she meets up with him in New Salem he's dating Diana and Cassie would do anything to keep the truth from coming out. Faye the "bad girl" of the group finds devasting information about a kiss between Adam and Cassie and holds it against her as blackmail. Now Cassie is stuck being a toy to Faye doing things she wouldn't normally do. How far will Cassie go?
What a great book, definitely alot different then The Vampire Diaries. I love reading about the witch aspect and how the circle deals with things. Just started The Captive hope it's just as good.
