Description:

Grief-stricken by his wife's untimely death, a wealthy New York banker turns to sexual abandon in the bordellos of 1907 New York. Then one fateful night, after a mysterious attack, he dies to his old life and is reborn a Vampyre. Once obsessed solely with making money and social advancement, he's now driven by a new, perverse hunger for blood.

Written in a period voice, this deeply erotic work takes us into dark corners of the psyche as it explores a secret world of power and obsession.

My Thoughts:

This book was sent to me from Dorothy via Pump Up Your Book Promotions for a honest and fair review.  This book is about Rosedale a man who has lost his wife and finds himself going to Madame DuPont's where he gets his sexual satisfaction.  One night he looses some time and finds a pain on his neck not sure what happened during that mysterious time frame.

Not long after that he learns about the world of vampyre's and that his is one. A Lord named Walpole explains to Rosedale what is happening to him, and his transition.  That Rosedale being a Jewish Vampire makes him immune to sunlight, crosses and holy water, and that he is a rare breed of vampyre.  Rosedale finds this all a bit hard to swallow.

This was a very interesting story not your typical vampire book at all I think adults will enjoy the different aspect of vampyre's and how one reacts to being turned.
