Description:
There are worse things than death, worse people too
The “talk” was bad enough, but how many teens get told that they’re a goddess? When her mom tells her, Persephone is sure her mother has lost her mind. It isn’t until Boreas, the god of winter, tries to abduct her that she realizes her mother was telling the truth. Hades rescues her, and in order to safely bring Persephone to the Underworld he marks her as his bride. But Boreas will stop at nothing to get Persephone. Despite her growing feelings for Hades, Persephone wants to return to the living realm. Persephone must find a way to defeat Boreas and reclaim her life.
My Thoughts:
This book was given to me by the author for a honest and fair review.
This book follows Persephone who is a typical teenage girl hanging out with her best friend Melissa. The main difference is people talk about Persephone behind her back and everyone seems to stumble all over themselves in her presence.
When Persephone finds ice approaching time and again freak winter conditions in Georgia Persephone finds something is a miss. When she is attacked in her mother's store she finds out she is a goddess and that someone named Boreas is after her. First Persephone tries to run to her friend Melissa but finds out that Melissa knew all along and ends up in a park where she is attacked by someone else, Hades takes her to the Underworld to protect her from Boreas, there she learns alot about Gods and Goddesses. Where it is safe to go and unsafe to go. And what happened when Hades brought her there and how she is now married to Hades for eternity.
This book reminds me of The Goddess Test Series by: Aimee Carter, and the relationship with Henry (Hades) and Kate Winters. Definitely the same type of book and a great read for anyone who loves mythology in their stories.
