Last night I was looking at all the reading challenges I've done over the past years:
- 2011: Read 151
- 2012: Read 173
- 2013: Read 166
- 2014: Read 131
The reason I was so impressed is because in school I was diagnosed with an attention issue and to be able to go beyond my reading limit which was usually 100 books and each time without even noticing it I passed my goals. I stopped doing reading challenges others set out because I couldn't keep up with going to their sites and logging my books. But to have reached these challenges through goodreads works for me and I plan to do it again this year the one challenge I look forward to.
Just wanted to share with you how much I had gotten read over the past few years you can see it when you go to my past reviews between me and Simay my co-blogger we have tackled alot of books I was shocked when I was setting up the past review page which took two days to set up! Can't wait to see what this year brings!
Thank you to all the wonderful authors who've taken a chance on my small book blog. You have really helped me come out of my shell reading wise. I love everyone I have worked with they have been great and so easy to work with no issues with any of them.
A special thank you goes out to Lori Caswell at Great Escapes Book Tour I am so honored to have come across her and her love of cozy mysteries. Without her I wouldn't have come across authors like Jim and James Lavene or Cleo Coyle or even Victoria Hamilton. Coming across Lori's book tours I have even found myself shopping looking for their new releases or past books I haven't read by them.
Thank you everyone you mean so much to me. I hope you all have a wonderful and joyous 2015!
4 shout outs:
Paula - I was touched by your editorial, and I thank you for sharing your personal story. It's passionate bloggers like you who help get the word out on books, build communities, and foster the love of reading. We writers can't thank you enough for that. So cheers to you and your wonderful blog, and Happy New Year!
~ Cleo Coyle, author of
The Coffeehouse Mysteries
Thank you Cleo for taking the time out of your day to stop by and leave a comment it's writers like you that make it all worthwhile. You write such great characters that can't help but pull readers in.
Paula, I don't think readers know how much hearing from you all gives back to writers. One lovely blog like yours is fuel. As writers, we are somewhat isolated; knowing we are hitting the mark and making people happy is so very wonderful. Have a fabulous reading 2015! And by that I mean, enjoy every book you read to the utmost!
That helps hearing that authors do read what we write I always wonder whether I'm talking to my brick wall cause I don't always get comments. Which always makes me wonder if anyone is listening. Hearing the kind words from you authors makes it worthwhile makes me see that what I do does make an impact. Cozy mysteries are my all time favorite books to read you all have hit on something with your books. I have even converted my mother-in-law into cozy mysteries she's reading Kate Collins right now but I'm setting her up with Cleo Coyle's Village Blend series and then next will be Victoria Hamilton's books so thank you for making my days happier!
