Description:

In the close-knit community of Chesapeake Shores, Maryland, Susie O'Brien and Mack Franklin's "not dating" claim befuddles everyone, especially since the two spend every spare minute together. Susie's thrilled when their friendship finally heats up. Then, just when happily-ever-after seems within reach, Mack loses the job he loves and Susie faces a devastating diagnosis.

But O'Briens always unite in a crisis. Even her cousin Jess, Susie's rival for most of their lives, becomes her staunchest supporter --- especially when Mack's former lover comes to town. The stakes are higher than ever before, but Susie's definitely up to the challenge ... as long as Mack's right there by her side.

My Review:

This book follows the relationship of Susie O'Brien and Mack Franklin.  Mack starts out getting laid of from his job as a sports reporter as he was getting ready to propose to Susie O'Brien.  Susie has no clue how Mack is feeling and gets shut out when he gets laid off.  Mack afraid to confide in Susie about the work situation which doesn't last long as she gives him what for for not telling her what was going on.  Then the tables become turned when Susie has a medical scare and is afraid to tell Mack.  Eventually they sort through all this and Susie helps Mack start a newspaper in town.  Mack stands by Susie during her medical situation trying to be the best cheerleader she could have.  Was a great read seeing what the O'Briens are up to.
