Description:

It wouldn't be summer without the Watermelon Festival, and single mom Amanda Wright is looking forward to a carefree day eating funnel cakes and sipping sweet tea. But with her inquisitive son and elderly grandmother in tow, she's not in the mood for carnival rides or the kissing booth, until she hears a charming, funny voice over the loudspeaker.

Grant Trumbull is the new DJ at the local radio station, and his deep, booming cadence has all the ladies of the church auxillary atwitter. Even without seeing his face, Amanda can't help but wonder if he's the one for her. When she finally comes face to face with the man behind the mic, summer is about to get a whole lot hotter in little Last Chance, South Carolina.

My Thoughts:

This was a cute novella sent to me via NetGalley in it we meet Amanda Wright who's at the fair with her son and her grandmother, both of whom are looking for Amanda's Grandfather who has died a while ago.  Amanda seems afraid to make big changes in her life like getting a pet, moving on after her husband died, and letting her son ride the ferris wheel.

When her Grandmother goes missing Amanda is looking all over then her son goes missing and Amanda feels herself falling apart realizing she will have to send her grandmother to a home as she can no longer care for her and then her son missing just breaks her heart.

What she doesn't realize is that he is connecting with with a deejay at a radio booth at the fair.  Ethan Amanda's son is convinced that Grant Trumbull the deejay is Ethan's deceased father and tries to convince him of that.

It was such a cute story reminding many women that when one dies life doesn't end with death but sometimes a new beginning can be right around the corner.  I really enjoyed this story I am definitely going to look for more Last Chance books.
