Description:

Nick and Nora aren’t just pussyfooting around this time as they deal with a missing person’s case and murder.

While catering a gala for the Cruz Museum, Nora Charles agrees to look into the disappearance of director Violet Crenshaw’s niece, a case previously undertaken by her frisky feline friend Nick’s former owner, a private eye whose whereabouts are also currently unknown.

As Nora and her curious cat Nick pull at the string of clues, they begin to unravel a twisted tale of coded messages, theft, false identities, murder, and international espionage. Nora dares to hope that the labyrinth of leads will not only help them locate the missing young woman, but also solve the disappearance of the detective. That’s if Nora can stay alive long enough to find him...

My Thoughts:

This book follows Nora who is getting ready for a gala event offering food for the event Nora also gets asked by Violet Crenshaw to find out what happened to her niece whether it be good or bad.  Nora is also curious to what happened to Nick the cat's previous owner who was a private investigator named Nick Atkins who just disappeared.  One of the last thing he was working on was Violet's niece the only clue left behind is a postcard that was either written by Nick Atkins or a good forger.  What happened to Nick the PI?  Did he face death and lose or something more simple?

At the gala event Nora notices that not everyone is playing nice and Daisy the event planner seems to be having issues with various people, but when Daisy winds up dead Nora wonders if one of her arguments resulted in her death?  Who would want Daisy dead and why?  Add to the fact that Nick Atkins has sent another cryptic postcard what is Nick trying to say or more importantly what isn't he saying?

I loved reading this especially the various mysteries including what happened to Nick and his coded messages it was great!!  I also enjoyed reading Nora searching out for answers no matter how serious it got.  Definitely a huge fan of Nick and Nora can't wait to see what is next for these two!!
